Charles's narration is strong and consistently engaging. Even in the overly long, sometimes repetitious sections common to the true-crime genre, Charles maintains listener attention. He uses character voices when there's dialogue and keeps the energy high. Phelps paints a chilling portrait of a brilliant sociopath who kills and then goes home for milk and cookies.
